Interactive Balon

Principal:
Banco Alimentare is a network composed of the Foundation, which has a central coordinating function, and 21 regional banks, including Banco Alimentare del Piemonte ODV. Its history began in 1989 when a group of friends decided to replicate in Italy an experience similar to one already existing in Spain and rented the first warehouse in Meda (MI), thanks to a donation received from Cav. Danilo Fossati (owner of STAR). When Fossati met Don Luigi Giussani, a point of reference for the group of friends, a deep understanding was immediately born that would lead them to share and realize desires present in their hearts: to reduce food waste and help the neediest people.

Project:
Interactive Balon is a communication project that aims to bring to light the similarities between the values of the world of the second hand and those of the Food Bank, fitting into the established context of the Turin Balon. This is done through a campaign to sponsor and publicize the charity, especially through an installation of seven micro-perforated PVC panels, aimed at capturing the attention of passers-by with the help of graphics with contrasting solid colors and informative texts on three main themes: recovery, conscious consumption and inclusion.

Team:
The project created by four students from the Communication Design course at the Polytechnic University of Turin for the Piedmont Food Bank. The goal was to create a merchandising product that would be transformed into an interactive experience that could be shared on social platforms in order to spread the activities of the Piedmont Food Bank to a growing audience.
